Mom chooses gifts for her family

Have you picked Christmas gifts for your family yet? As a mom of three small children, 5 year-old Manny, 3 year-old Emma and 2 year-old Isabella, I am overwhelmed by all the choices.

When choosing presents for our kids, my husband and I focus on toys that have an educational value and stimulate their imagination.  I am also trying (it’s very hard) to avoid electronic toys that do not stimulate their imagination.

In addition to celebrating Christmas, we keep our Latino traditions and celebrate Nochebuena, we always participate in Las Posadas and attend Misa de Gallo.

Gifts for the kids

For Christmas, we are getting our kids a few books from Mi Pequeña Enciclopedia Larousse series.  I am also getting a few board games like the Spanish version of Twister and Bingo.   I love spending quality time with my kids and husband.  I hope the kids will never grow too old for family nights!

Gifts for my husband

When it comes to finding gifts for my husband, I usually don’t have any problems, because he loves to work on his car.  So this year I decided to purchase some tools for his car.  He will love these tools and tool box.

Gifts for my in-laws

This year, we are spending the Holiday’s with my husband’s parents.  My mother-in-law loves tea, especially mate, so I think I will get her a set to serve mate with a few different mate choices from Teavana.  My father-in-law enjoys Latin music.  He is a big fan of Prince Royce, so I will get him Prince Royce’s latest album Phase II at iTunes, so he can listen to it on his iPod. He also enjoys listening to La Santa Cecilia, Raul Paz and Rolando Villazón.
