New Latino-based online shopping club creates community grant fund to entice shoppers
Today, OneBigTent LLC out of Chicago, announced the launch of their new online bilingual membership shopping club website for Latinos in the U.S., ValoraMas.com. According to their press release, Valoramás members will receive savings and other benefits not seen anywhere else online. Additionally, to entice new members/shoppers, Valoramás has also tied a commitment to community by saying that “Valoramás will give back more than half of every dollar that it makes annually to its members and to organizations dedicated to serving Latinos.” For that the company developed the Valoramás Community Grant Fund (VCGF) to award funds to community organizations dedicated to directly serving the needs of the Latino community. To jump-start the Fund’s contributions, Founder’s grants totaling $150,000 will be awarded in January 2012. VCGF will invest in key areas such as education, health care, community development, and arts and humanities.
The basic premise of ValorMás website is a virtual shopping mall which includes more than nine million products from almost thousands of online retailers, including Target.com, Walmart.com, Best Buy, Sears.com, Apple, Macy’s, The Home Depot, and Toys ‘R’ Us. However, membership is NOT FREE. The annual membership cost is $25. Valorama claims that “members enjoy exclusive offers and the highest cash-back rates available anywhere in the U.S. – on average more than five percent of the purchase price, up to 67 percent.”
“We are thrilled to be launching Valoramás, providing Latinos with remarkable savings and much more, just in time for the holiday shopping season,” said Alejandra Garza, President of Valoramás. “Valoramás features the best cash-back rates available anywhere in the U.S., a true game changer in online shopping.” Garza added, “Valoramás’ mission is to make a difference by providing a home where members can shop, save more, connect, and come together to help expand possibilities in the Latino community.”
